Overview

  • ELL (English Language Learner), formerly known as ESL (English Second Language), are supports and services provided to students whose English have not met school standards. Students generally need to graduate from ELL/ESL before they can take regular English Courses in high school.
  • Teaching a new language to a student requires a teacher to be specialized and trained in the field, generally with a certificate of TESOL or TESL. An experienced ESL teacher can accelerate a student’s progress through ESL in significantly shorter time.
